It seems only yesterday that I was talking about Steven Tai Fall/Winter 2015 collection. But it’s London Fashion Week, and it’s time for Steven Tai to unveil his new Spring/Summer 2016 collection. His signature relaxed tomboy look stays strong, yet this time they look more innocent, dorky, and adorable.
Steven Tai’s Spring/Summer 2016 “worst day ever” collection is all about going back to the original essence of Steven Tai girl. She’s geeky, somewhat naive, and she’s “…pressured to enjoy herself on a day of obstinate happiness.”
That context sets quite a charming London Fashion Week presentation. Steven Tai models wearing checkered shirts, dresses, knee-length skirts, cropped trousers, coats in gorgeous candy and lemon tart color palette. I’m obsessed with how good-looking the stripes of silk organza are layered and gathered to form garments with both clarity and depth.
If that’s what innocence is, I’d love more of that. And perhaps I’ll get the yellow rimmed, large round glasses too, while I’m at it.
