Thick furs, diaphanous outfits, and feathery hairdos are key elements for Serkan Cura Fall/Winter 2015 collection, titled “le jeu des dames.” The various silhouettes are playful, while the kabuki-like red blush keeps the overall vibe focused. The mostly black and white color palette gets an occasional dose of fun thanks to the male models donning fringe skirt and glittery headdress.
The outfits are luxurious and bold; the high level of craftsmanship shines through a sea of fur dresses and coats, feather coats and tops. My favorite piece is the blue cage dress of eyelet tape and lace, which no doubt will look fantastic in an editorial shoot.
However, unlike his Spring/Summer 2015 collection, it is difficult to find a unifying theme. Each of the outfits are impressive works of art, but there are several kinds of personas showcased in this Serkan Cura Fall/Winter 2015 collection. Nevertheless, perhaps that is exactly the designer’s intention: to present several layers of fashion that resonates with us in different relevance levels.
