When I walked from the parking lot to Palace of Fine Arts Theatre to attend Academy of Art 2013 Graduation Fashion Show, I was sooooo tempted to walk on the grass as shortcut because I’m just not a good walker in heels. But then I stopped myself; my low yet narrow rounded heels would undoubtedly sank me to the ground with each and every step. And I don’t want to show up in front of the theatre trying to check in with muddy, glittery heels. Maybe I wouldn’t care for other occasions, but not this one. That day, I went home with some blisters from long walks.
Fast forward 10 days later, when I got an email request to review Grasswalkers, the potential solution to my grass-walking problem. I love this email, it’s so concise.
Here’s an excerpt from that email:

Solution: Grasswalkers; 100% transparent strips that adhere to the bottom of your favorite heels creating a sturdy, practically invisible guard to keep your heels from sinking and your beautiful shoes from being damaged.
And I was like, YES!!! Please send me some samples and I would get my two pretty girl friends to model at Crissy Fields! And that’s what happened.
After some weird weather situation happening at the Bay Area, finally we got to do our planned Grasswalkers review photoshoot last Saturday. The Made in USA strips materials are polycarbonate, adhesive, and non-skid tape. So first we fix those strips on our heels, upside down because we wanted to show what the strips look like up close (read: we didn’t follow the “proper” instructions :).

At first, we were skeptical to see whether the strips would hold on these tall, quite bushy and wild grass on Crissy Fields, not to mention the super mini “hills” and “valleys” on the grassy fields. So we started taking a walk, enjoying the beautiful Golden Gate Bridge (it was a bit foggy) and SFMOMA On the Go Mark di Suvero sculptures.

Hey, the strips are sturdy enough for Crissy Fields grass! And we’re the best-dressed people wearing high heels at Crissy Fields at that time! What joy =D

At this point, we started walking more towards one of Mark di Suvero’s 8 sculptures. And the grass were much bushier. Look at my friend’s feet getting almost buried by those grass! But Grasswalkers kept the girls from sinking into the ground.

My girl friends seemed to enjoy Grasswalkers quite immensely (or was it because of the photoshoot? Whichever is fine.) They talked about how Grasswalkers would be very useful for heels that have leather / suede soles, that the strips would keep those soles clean and help the shoes remain pretty.

But these two are the pretty ones! Thank you for my girl friends, without whom this review post is not possible. Such great energy and always lovely company to have, these two :) I love them both, and we all love Grasswalkers!
Thank you Corinne for sending the Grasswalkers samples, now we can walk (and work it) on the grass just fine.
Until next time,
Musank
What a neat idea!
